Martins Dukurs wins 3rd straight skeleton World Cup race

KOENIGSSEE, Germany (AP) Triple world champion Martins Dukurs of Latvia won his third straight skeleton World Cup race of the season on Saturday.

The defending World Cup champion was two hundredths of a second behind Alexander Tretiakov after his first run of 50.25 seconds, but clocked 50.03 with his second run for a combined time of 1 minute, 40.28 seconds, beating the Russian by 0.43.

Olympic champion Tretiakov clocked 50.23 and 50.48 for a combined time of 1:40.71 and his third second-place finish of the season.

Yun Sung-bin of South Korea was 0.88 behind in third, followed by Dukurs' older brother Tomass, 1.02 behind, and Germany's Christopher Grotheer, 1.26 behind.

Dukurs leads the standings with a maximum 675 points from three races, ahead of Tretiakov on 630 and Germany's Axel Jungk on 578.
