RUKA, Finland (AP) Michael Kingsbury of Canada earned a record 29th career freestyle skiing World Cup title when he won the season-opening dual moguls on Saturday.

Kingsburg, the World Cup moguls and overall freestyle champion, out-pointed Benjamin Cavet of France 20-15 in the final for his fourth victory on the Ruka hill in northeastern Finland.

He previously shared the career wins record with Edgar Grospiron of France, who amassed 28 wins from 1988-95.

Japanese teen Ikuma Horishima was third, coming from behind to beat last year's winner at Ruka, Canadian Philipp Marquis, for pace and clean jumps.

In a surprising women's final matchup, Mikaela Matthews of the United States took the top honor from Regina Rakhimova of Russia.

The favorite, Chloe Dufour-Lapointe of Canada, had to be content with third, winning the small final against Hedvig Wessel of Norway.
