CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) Lindsey Vonn led the final training session for a World Cup downhill Friday and can break the career record for wins in skiing's signature event on Saturday.

Vonn clocked 1 minutes, 37.48 seconds down the Olympia delle Tofane course for a 0.38-second lead over Verena Stuffer of Italy.

Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein was third, 0.40 behind, while overall World Cup leader Lara Gut was 1.80 behind in 13th.

Vonn is tied with Austrian great Annemarie Moser-Proell on 36 downhill wins. Last year in Cortina, Vonn broke Moser-Proell's record of overall wins with her 63rd victory.

After Saturday's downhill race, a super-G is scheduled for Sunday.

With nine career wins in Cortina, Vonn can also match Renate Goetschl's record of 10 victories in the resort.

Vonn also led Thursday's opening training.
