Samkova, Olyunin win snowboardcross World Cup events

FELDBERG, Germany (AP) Olympic champion Eva Samkova of the Czech Republic, and Nikolay Olyunin of Russia won snowboardcross World Cup events on Saturday.

Samkova finished ahead of Michela Moioli of Italy and Chloe Trespeuch of France, second and third respectively in the big final.

Nelly Moenne Loccoz of France was fourth to maintain her lead in the standings.

Lindsey Jacobellis of the United States was fifth, ahead of Belle Brockhoff of Australia.

Olyunin won the men's final ahead of Olympic champion Pierre Vaultier of France and Alex Pullin of Australia to take the lead in the standings after two events.

Canada's Christopher Robanske was fourth, ahead of American Nick Baumgartner, and compatriot Baptiste Brochu.

More snowboardcross World Cup races were scheduled for Sunday.
