New hearing date set in Tennessee high school rape case

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) A juvenile court hearing has been pushed back to March 15 for three Tennessee high school basketball players charged with raping a teammate with a pool cue.

Police say a 17-year-old from Ooltewah High School assaulted a teammate who was being held down by two 16-year-old players. Police say it happened Dec. 22 at a Gatlinburg cabin.

The three defendants aren't named because they're juveniles. Their hearing in Sevier County originally was set for last week but it was rescheduled. The new date was announced Monday.

Hamilton County officials have charged Ooltewah basketball coach Andre Montgomery, assistant coach Karl Williams and athletic director Allard Nayadley with failing to report child sex abuse. Their hearing is scheduled for Feb. 15 in Chattanooga.
