Former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan says he blames himself for the incident that ended with a Florida jury awarding him $140 million in his privacy lawsuit against Gawker Media over the publication of a sex tape.

Hogan told NBC's ''Today'' show that he wonders what people think of him now, saying it's something that never goes away.

Hogan says he sued Gawker because he never wants anyone else to go through what he did after the website published the video in which he has sex with his former best friend's wife. Hogan says he didn't know he was being recorded. Gawker maintained the footage was newsworthy information about a public figure.

Jurors said in interviews after the trial that despite his celebrity, he's still a human being.

Hogan says he never watched the tapes, adding it was the most embarrassing moment of his life.

The six Florida jurors who sided with Hulk Hogan in his lawsuit against Gawker Media over the online publication of a sex tape say they believe the ex-pro wrestler was emotionally distressed over the incident.

On ABC News, the jurors said that despite Hogan's celebrity status, he's still a human being. They awarded him $140 million.

Paula Eastman said she and the other jurors would've been emotionally devastated, too, in his situation.

Salina Stevens said she looked for signs of remorse from Gawker Media founder Nick Denton but didn't see any.

Hogan sued Gawker for invasion of privacy after it published the video in which he has sex with his best friend's wife. Hogan said he didn't know he was being recorded. Gawker said the footage was newsworthy information about a public figure, and protected by the First Amendment.

Denton says he'll appeal.
