Anti-Doping Norway extends Johaug's provisional suspension

OSLO, Norway (AP) Norway's anti-doping agency says the two-month provisional suspension of cross-country skier Therese Johaug has been extended until Feb. 19.

Last year's World Cup champion initially had been suspended until Sunday, but Anti-Doping Norway investigator Niels Kiaer says her ban was extended Friday pending the outcome of her case.

Last month, the agency's prosecution committee called for a 14-month ban on Johaug and filed charges to the Norwegian sports federation's disciplinary committee, which will make a ruling. A verbal hearing is scheduled for Jan. 25-27.

Johaug tested positive for clostebol, a steroid she said was in a lotion given to her by the team doctor to treat sunburn on her lips during high-altitude training in Italy in August.
