THEY CAN DO EVERYTHING

The only thing better than having one good guard is having two or—eureka!—three of those heady little fellows who can perform more tasks than big men dream of.

This is an article from the Dec. 1, 1975 issue

Like run, dribble, shoot, pass, defend and think. On the following pages is the cream of a bumper bunch of do-it-alls, including two dauntless duos and one truly terrific trio.

Ron Lee (30) is a bruiser who barges in where fouls are sure to be drawn. Just a soph, Phil Ford (12) drives the Tar Heels. Tough Steve Grote and JC transfer Ricky Green are the Wolverines' new one-two punch.

Johnny Davis is highest Flyer in points (22.3 per game), assists and steals.

'Cats Mike Evans and Chuckie Williams form a 39-point backcourt.

Two top guards, Bruce Parkinson and Quinn Bucker, are back home in Indiana.

Louisville's slick playmaker Phil Bond gives the Cardinals an offense of note.

It may hike an ocean of calamine lotion to stop 28.3-point man Poison Ivy.

Last year Steve Collier was one of four frosh who made Cincy sing.

Terps' backcourtmen Mo Howard (24), Lucas (15) and Brad Davis are so good Coach Lefty Driesell plays them all together.
