Cheri, 18, won the girls' 1,500 meters with a 4:20.9 at the U.S.-U.S.S.R. junior track meet. The Livermore High School graduate, who holds the national girls' record in the two-mile run (10:09.8), will attend the University of Oregon.
As a senior at Cass High School, Dexter scored 5,662 points to win the Georgia prep decathlon championship. He finished first in the 100 meters (11.1), the long jump (20' 2½"), the high jump (6'7") and the 110-meter hurdles (15.5).
While a senior at Kittanning High, Lori, 17, led the Wildcat softball team to a 12-0 record and the WPIAL section 9 championship. She had a 7-0 record, which included two no-hitters, and also batted .644 and was voted the team's MVP.
At the state interscholastic fencing championships, Mark, 17, won the sabre title for the second straight year. In two seasons he won 53 straight dual meet matches and had a 73-1 record. The Morris Hills High graduate will attend Clemson.

The only girl playing in the Bernie O'Rourke Little League, Michelle, 12, was the starting shortstop for the Rotary Club team for three years and an AU-Star selection for two. This year she hit .372 and had an 8-0 pitching record, including a no-hitter.
After winning the first national tournament for soccer skills, in Portland, Ore., Joey, 14, born in Houston, finished third in the FIFA International Skills Event. Joey scored 148 points, one fewer than the co-champions, both Argentinians.
