D'Elia, 49, a teacher at the New York School for the Deaf, was the 33rd woman to finish in the Boston Marathon, with a clocking of 2:58:03. Her time was not only a record for her age, but also the best time by an American woman over 46.
Clark, a 6'8" senior, averaged 26 points and 17 rebounds a game to lead St. Joseph High to the state basketball finals. An All-America and Ohio Class AAA Player of the Year, Clark has signed a letter of intent to attend Ohio State.
Dembowski, 21, has been hit by 95 pitches in 144 games for Fairleigh Dickinson University (Ron Hunt's major league record is 50 in 152 games). The 5'4" second baseman is batting .355 this season, with an on-base percentage of .704.
Meddock, 41, coached the Ambridge High boys' gymnastics team to its third straight Pennsylvania title with a meet-record 160.05 points. In seven years Meddock, who has never had any formal gymnastics training, has a 112-1 record.

Baston, 23, and Dohrmann, 21, scored major upsets to win the men's and women's events at the U.S. Indoor Archery Championships in Harrisburg, Pa. Baston, an Air Force Airman 1C, scored 1,169 points out of a possible 1,200 to edge 1976 Olympic gold medalist Darrell Pace by three points and 1977 world champion Richard McKinney by seven. Dohrmann, a junior at Ramapo (N.J.) College and a virtual unknown, won her event with 1,095 points, nine more than Ruth Rowe.
