Zechmeister, 78, set U.S. over-70 women's records in the 165-pound weight class in the squat (116 pounds), bench press (88), dead lift (209) and total weight (413) categories at a masters power-lifting championship in Concord, Calif.

ELMIRA, N.Y.
Kalwait, an Elmira College junior center and the second leading scorer in NCAA Division II hockey, has 44 points in 14 games in leading the Soaring Eagles to a 9-5-0 record. He has 29 goals and has twice scored four goals in a game.

COLUMBUS, IND.
Dale, a junior at Columbus East High, broke two state women's records in leading the Olympiannes to the 1982 girls' state swim title. She swam the 200-yard IM in 2:05.51, 3.5 seconds below the old mark, and the 100-yard butterfly in 56.27.

TIGARD, ORE.
Liam, a 135-pound ninth-grader at Fowler Junior High, kicked what is believed to be the longest pre-college field goal in Oregon history when he booted a 54-yarder in the final seconds to defeat Evergreen Junior High 3-2.

DASHER, GA.
Roller, 29, the principal of Georgia Christian School, has coached the Generals to 115 straight wins, the second-longest streak in boys' high school basketball history. The record is 159, set in 1919-25 by Earnest Blood of Passaic (N.J.) High.

WAIPAHU, HAWAII
Manzano, a senior setter at the University of Hawaii-Hilo, was named tournament MVP as the Vulcans won their second straight NAIA women's volleyball title. A first-team All-America, she helped Hilo to a 33-6 overall record.
