Lowe, 40, a math teacher at Greenwich High, has coached the Cardinal swimming team to 15 league, 13 state Class LL and 10 state open titles in 15 seasons. His teams have won 180 of 199 dual meets and have not lost since 1979.

Genie, a sophomore at Beaver High, riding a 5-year-old gelding named Boogie, won the Appaloosa Horse Club of America's 18-and-under awards for showmanship and western, English hunt seat and bareback equitation.

Duffy, a 6'3" senior guard and history major, made 87 of 98 free throws and 130 of 259 three-point shots for Dakota Wesleyan. In 1982 he received the Emil S. Liston Award as the top citizen-scholar-hoops player in the NAIA.
Hannah, 12, a seventh-grader at Lewiston Junior High, set Maine age-group records in the 50-and 100-yard freestyle, the 50 breaststroke and butterfly and the 100 and 200 IM in one meet. In all, she holds 32 state age-group marks.
Dothel, 16, a junior at Cedar Shoals High, leaped 7'2½" the ninth-best high school high jump ever. The national record holder for 15-year-olds—he did 7'¼" last year—he recently won the event at the Georgia Relays.
Greer, a junior at Tarleton State, placed first in the all-around competition at the NAIA national women's gymnastics championships. She won individual event titles in the vault, bars and floor exercises and was third in the balance beam.
