Neuburger, 19, a member of the U.S. Yacht Racing Union's women's team, won the 10-race, two-throw-out boardsailing competition at the IYRU sailing championships in Largs, Scotland by 22.4 points, over Santha Patel of New Zealand.

Donald, a senior tailback at McClatchy High, scored on a 64-yard run in a 24-13 win over Christian Brothers High for his 38th TD of the year, breaking the state high school regular-season scoring mark of 37 held by Dick Bass since 1954.

Chanin, a senior at the University of Maryland, swam nonstop around Manhattan three times to become the first person to complete a triple circuit of the island, a total of 85.5 miles. She covered that distance in 33 hours and 29 minutes.

Davidson, 66, a retired salesman, won seven gold medals and set national age-group (65-69) records in the 200-meter butterfly and 400 individual medley at the U.S. Masters Long Course swimming championships in Raleigh, N.C.

Giblin, 55, a housewife and 24-handicap golfer, used a four-wood to hit a hole in one on the 166-yard 6th hole at the Lake Quivera Country Club. Four days later she used the same club to ace the 161-yard 14th at the Meadowbrook C.C.
