Jason, 10, won both the state and western U.S. kids' wrestling championships in the 75-pound class. He also scored 25 touchdowns as a running back last season for his Junior Pee Wee football team and rushed for more than 1,200 yards.
PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill.
Dana, a freshman at Wheeling High, passed nine runners in the final 300 yards to win the state girls' high school cross-country title, running the 2.2-mile race in 11:29.6. The Wildcats won the team title with the lowest point total ever.
Preston, 36, has coached Charlotte Valley Central High's girls' basketball team to 100 straight wins in Section IV. The Wildcats have not lost in the section since March of 1980. Preston's record in his 7½ years of coaching at two schools is 140-13.
Patrick, a senior at Stamford High, won the all-around and four individual titles during the state gymnastics championships: the floor exercise, high bar, rings and vault. He led the Black Knights to second place in team competition.

Terrell, a senior center, is averaging 25.7 points and 16.5 rebounds for the 26-1 Grambling High basketball team, the runner-up for the 1984 state title. Terrell's cousin Patrick, 17, is the Kittens' second-leading scorer, averaging 23.5 points.
Laura, a senior at Randolph High, set a girls' national high school soccer scoring record with 190 goals in four years. The Rams had a 61-3-1 record over the past three years. She had 61 goals and 24 assists as a senior despite a broken jaw.
