BRIDGEPORT, ALA.
Vincent, a 6'5" senior forward for Bridgeport High, averaged 32 points and 18 rebounds a game in leading the Tigers to a 26-3 season. Vincent, named Alabama's 1984-85 Mr. Basketball, will go on to play with Memphis State.

MAUREEN BURCHILL
PORTLAND, MAINE
Burchill, a senior forward at Southern Maine, set an NCAA Division III basketball scoring record with 2,357 career points. Averaging 22.1 ppg this season, she surpassed by 33 points the '80-84 total of North Central (Ill.) College's Kim Wallner.

DICK BASS
DALLAS
Bass, a 55-year-old resort developer, became the oldest man to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, which he did April 30. The feat also made him the only person to have climbed the highest peak on each of the world's seven continents.

CATHY RITCH
MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.
Cathy, 14, set three U.S. Junior Olympic records at the Eastern swimming championships in Syracuse: in the 100-yard freestyle (49.82), 200 freestyle (1:47.85) and 500 freestyle (4:48.38). She also won the 100-yard backstroke.

RICKY ROJAS
HIALEAH, FLA.
Ricky, a senior at Hialeah-Miami Lakes High, struck out 625 batters to break the Florida high school career record of 574 set by Miami Westminster Christian's Bud Gray in 1977. Ricky had 161 strikeouts and a 14-0 record in 1984-85.

JEMISE DIGGS
WAYNESBORO, VA.
Jemise, a Waynesboro High senior, made 13 all-district teams while earning 16 varsity letters in basketball (4), volleyball (4), track (4), softball (3) and tennis. She set at least one school record in basketball, volleyball and track and field.
