Walsh, a 60-year-old grandmother, bowled only the second 300 game
in the history of the tournament en route to a 614 line during the
51,000-player Women's International Bowling Congress championship in
Costa Mesa, Calif.

UPPER DARBY, PA. MUHLENBERG, PA.
Eleven-year-old Giang, a Vietnamese immigrant, and 12-year-old
Darlene won the boys and girls divisions at the 63rd annual National
Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, N.J. Giang, whose record was 87-12
through the 34-player, four-day round-robin competition, beat
teammate Shawn Jackson 11-7 in the finals. Darlene, 38-4 overall,
defeated Shellie Jamison of Reading, Pa., 6-2 for her title; it was
the third straight year that Shellie had lost in the finals.

PLANTATION, FLA.
Chris, a 5 ft. 8 in., 140-pound senior at South Plantation High,
scored all three goals in a 3-2 win over Tarpon Springs for the state
AAAA soccer title. He was Broward County's top miler (4:20) and pass
receiver (31 catches for 610 yards in '85), also.
TRACY LECTKA
WESTLAND, MICH.
Tracy, a senior at Livonia Franklin High, pitched a seven-inning
no-hitter to beat Waterford Kettering 1-0 for the state Class A
softball championship. In the semis, she helped the Patriots beat
South Lyon in a 2-0 game by pitching 20 scoreless innings.

TURLOCK, CALIF.
Hanny, 61, golf coach at Stanislaus State, has taken his Warriors
to the NCAA Division III title in 9 of the past 11 years. He has a
career record of 892-483-6, primarily against Division I and II
schools. His Division III record is 209-4.
