After reading Dan Geringer's article on Wade Burck (Now He's The
Cat's Meow, July 21), I will never again attend a circus that
promotes and exploits white tigers, which Geringer described as
''genetic freaks, $100,000 creations of captive breeding programs.''
The use of cross-eyed, hard-of-hearing and neurotic tigers for the
purpose of entertainment seems cruel and mercenary.

I liked the story on Wade Burck. I wonder if Tony the Tiger did?
He might say, ''Grrrrreat!''
