Grant, a 5'7" sophomore guard on the Trenton State basketball squad, surpassed a 34-year-old school record by scoring 51 points in an 84-74 win over Montclair State. He has also set school records for season average (28.5) and total points (740).

Service, a UCLA sophomore, set a Pac-10 gymnastics record by scoring 38.60 points to win the UCLA/L.A. Times Invitational all-around title. She won the beam with a score of 9.75, and tied for first in the vault (9.65) and floor exercise (9.70).
Lynne, a senior post forward for Ventura High's six-player basketball team, set a national high school career scoring record with 6,736 points in 112 games. Denise Long of Union-Whitten High in Iowa set the old record of 6,250 from 1966 to '69.

Jason, a 112-pound senior wrestler at Bennington High, had a 138-1 record in four years, setting state records not only for wins but also for pins (98), season victories (39) and consecutive wins (136). A semifinal loss to Jeremy Eckley in the Class B tournament ended his bid to become the first undefeated wrestler in state history. Richard, a senior 167-pounder for White Lake-Plankinton, set state career marks for pins (114) and wins with a 182-43-1 record. He also won his second state Class B title.
