Stacey, 13, set two national girls' age-group sprint records—one in the 100 meters with a time of 12.26, the other in the 200 with a 25.44—at the TAC Junior Olympics. A week later, she won the same events at the AAU national meet.

Owen, the 40-year-old wrestling coach at North Idaho College, led the Cardinals to an 18-0 record this season and their fourth consecutive national junior college title. Owen has a 170-6-1 dual-meet record over 11 seasons at North Idaho.
Elmer, a 6-foot senior point guard at Bellaire High, scored 2.930 points over four seasons and set a Texas 5A career record. Elmer, who has a 3.65 grade point average, scored 1,110 points this season and averaged 35.8 points per game.
Dattan, 60, won the USTA's hard-court doubles title in the women's 60 division with Peggy Landtroop. Dattan has been a USTA doubles titlist four times in the past year on three different surfaces and with three different partners.

Allen, a senior righthander at Saddle River Day School, pitched a perfect seven-inning game against Hackensack Christian, striking out 18 of 21 batters while not allowing a fly ball. It was the third no-hitter of his high school career.

Gury, a junior at Kenyon, won five women's titles at the NCAA Division III swim meet. She set division women's records in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes (1:05.07; 2:21.10) and helped set the 200 medley relay mark (1:47.87).
