Bryan, a senior guard at Cohasset High, had 26 points in a 77-75 win over Wareham High to break the Massachusetts high school career scoring record of 2,481 points. In his final two games he extended the record to 2.563 points.

Marny, a sophomore at Brookwood High, won the 1,600-meter run at the Class AAAA state track and field meet in a time of 4:54.59, the fastest ever by a Georgia schoolgirl. She also won the 800 meters, with a clocking of 2:10.06.
Rudy, a senior at the Haverford School, won the U.S. Squash Racquets Junior Championship to become the first player to win titles at the 12-, 14-, 16-and 18-and-under levels. He is also the reigning world junior titlist.
Winterton, 37, coached the Cary High wrestling team to the Class 4A state title. The Imps out-scored runner-up Davie County High 131.5-66. Winterton has a 101-1 dual-meet record in seven years at Cary, including 92 consecutive wins.
Bochinski and Gens, a freshman and sophomore, respectively, at Erie (N.Y.) Community College, pitched the Lady Kats soft ball team to a 32-1 final record. Gens was 17-1 with an 0.33 earned run average and 85 strikeouts in 106 innings, and Bochinski went 15-0 with an ERA of 0.81 while fanning 103 opponents. They were also hitting stars for Erie: Bochinski, who finished with a .508 average, and Gens, a .400 batter, would often play as designated hitter when the other was pitching.
