Silk, 61, a housewife, shot a final round of 82 to defeat Tana Gray by 12 strokes in the women's championship of the Joliet Country Club. It was her 22nd victory in this tournament in as many appearances over the last 27 years.

Darrin, a senior forward at Griffin High, scored a school-record 50 points, including a decisive three-pointer with 1:26 left in the Bears' 84-83 double-overtime win over Vanguard High of Ocala, Fla. He also had 14 rebounds.

Hall, 37, coached the Coleman Junior High girls' volleyball team to a 15-8, 6-15, 15-7 victory over Horace Mann Junior High to complete a 10-0 season and win a fourth consecutive Hillsborough County championship for the Cobras.

Nashville, a junior at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art, set a state high school indoor record in the long jump with a leap of 24'3¾". He erased the mark of 24'1¼", established in 1986 by Joe McDonald of Kingston High.

YUMA, ARIZ.
Veronica, a junior centerfielder at Yuma High, homered, stole five bases and scored four runs to lead the 22-5 Criminals to 2-1 and 7-4 wins against Horizon High of Scottsdale to take the Desert Valley region girls' winter softball title.

Eric, a senior at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Conn., ran a 3.1-mile course in 17:13 to win the New England prep school Class B cross-country championship. He has also finished first in 29 consecutive dual meets.
