Karen, a senior at Norwood High, scored 9.3 on the uneven bars, 9.25 on the balance beam. 9.15 on the vault and 9.45 in the floor exercise to win her second straight state individual gymnastics title, over Sandra Avellani of Maiden High.

GRANVILLE, OHIO
Ben, 14, averaged 15.8 points in leading the Middle School's eighth-grade basketball team to a 14-3 record and the Licking County League title. He also made 99 of 100 free throws in the Granville Athletic Boosters shootathon.

LYNNE CECIL
PLYMOUTH, MINN.
Cecil, 28, a bicycle saleswoman, won her third cross-country ski race in two weeks by coming out on top in a field of 6,000 in the American Birkebeiner. She covered the 53.5-km course from Hayward to Cable, Wis., in 2:51:28.2.

KETCHUM, IDAHO
Allender, a freshman, led the College of Idaho's women Alpine skiers to the team title by sweeping the individual events (slalom, giant slalom and Alpine combined) in the women's division of the national collegiate ski championships.

REGGIE HARRIS
COLUMBUS, GA.
Reggie, a senior at the Brookstone School, defeated Shane Morris of Bowdon High by a technical fall to win his third consecutive state wrestling title in the unlimited division. He was 26-0 this season and 91-10 in his last three years.

AMY GOODWIN
CHULA VISTA, CALIF.
Amy, a senior goalkeeper, led the Bonita Vista High girls' soccer team to a 26-2-2 record and the Metro League title and set a state high school mark for career shutouts(59). She attined the record in only 2½ seasons on the team.
