Jennifer, a recent graduate of Central Catholic High, threw a three-hitter and drove in two runs in the Cavaliers' 4-2 victory over Derby High for the state softball Class S championship. She had a 22-1 record with an 0.54 ERA this season.

Williams, 30, the 1986 PBA Bowler of the Year, set a world horseshoe record by tossing 323 ringers out of 350 shoes—92.28%—at a competition in Santa Rosa, Calif., surpassing the 91.6% achieved in 1960 by Dean McLaughlin of Canada.
JONI JO BEMENT
Joni, a recent graduate of St. Labre Indian School, parred the first playoff hole to defeat Vicki Brauer of Thompson Falls High and win the Montana Class B-C girls' golf title. For the tournament, Joni shot a 39-over-par 183 for 36 holes.
Emmett, 12, defeated Arturo Davis of Miami 6-0, 6-0 to win the boys' 12-and-under singles tennis championship at the Sunshine State Games. He is ranked third in the state in his age group and has been a finalist in his last 56 tournaments.
MICHIGAN CITY, IND.
Presser, 61, a retired high school counselor, was the only woman to finish an around-the-clock race-walk competition in Tampa. She covered 50 miles 302 yards in 12 hours. In June, she won her third Senior Classic 1,500-meter walk, in Indianapolis.
Tom, 16, a righthanded pitcher for the American Legion DeLand Post 6 Chipmunks, threw no-hitters in both games of a doubleheader against Flagler Palm Coast. Each game was shortened to live innings because of the 10-run rule.
