Meriwether, 70, a housewife, made it into the women's championship flight at the Valley View Golf Club for the 22nd consecutive year. A 15-handicapper, Meriwether won club titles in 1981 and '85. She has been runner-up four times.

White, 74, a physician, set a world record for his age in the 600-gram javelin (131'10") and an American record in the one-kilo discus (132'3") at the Big Sky Games. He also won gold medals in the high jump, hammer throw and shot put.

Patricia, 11, defeated Christina Talias of Marietta, Ga., to successfully defend her juvenile girls singles title at the National Artistic Roller Skating Championships, in Pensacola, Fla. Patricia also was the 1988 national primary girls singles champion.
DAE JIN KIM
Dae Jin, 12, won taekwando gold medals in both the fighting and form sections in the nine-to-12 age group at the National Junior Olympics. Last March he placed first in the same events at the North Carolina taekwando championships.
Heather, 8, competing for the Kennett swim team, won high point honors for the eight-and-under age group at the Mississippi West Swim Conference finals. During the season, Heather was undefeated in 23 races while setting 13 individual pool records.
Juneau, 20, defeated Ralph Solan of St. Louis 214-206 to win the U.S. Amateur bowling championship. Juneau, who averaged 212 for the 50-game tournament, has been named to the U.S. Pan-American and International Federation teams.
