Buente, a senior forward on the University of Man-land field hockey team, scored her fourth hat trick of the season as the Terps beat Richmond 5-0. Her 69 career goals broke the ACC record, formerly held by Louise Hines of North Carolina.

Garfinkle, 60, president of a corrugated-box manufacturing company, shot a final-round 72 to defeat Barry Harris of Montreal by seven shots and win for the 11th time in five decades the Class A men's golf championship at Elm Ridge Country Club.

KELLY BARNES
RADNOR, PA.
Kelly, 17, a senior at Radnor High, won for the 100th time in 115 tennis matches by beating Audra Boscoe of Wissahickon High 6-1, 6-1. Her wins include SO in singles and 20 in doubles. Ninety-three of them have come in straight sets.

WASHINGTON, D.C.
Devin, a senior wingback and defensive back at the Landon School, touched the football four times in a 41-14 victory over Southern High and scored each time. His TDs included 68- and 77-yard punt returns and a 92-yard runback of an interception.

KAYLA CALVERT
EVANSVILLE, IND.
Kayla, 10, a pitcher for the Evansville Astros, led her team to a 13-0 record in the Lake View Optimists Club fast-pitch softball league. Her 13 wins included four no-hitters and 168 strikeouts in 68 innings. She held the opposition to only 25 hits.

SCARSDALE, N.Y.
Adam, a senior quarterback, safety and kicker for Edgemont High, ran for 279 yards, scored four touchdowns and four extra points, kicked a 39-yard field goal, threw a 17-yard TD pass and had 12 tackles in a 39-28 win over Pelham High.
