Jerry, a 130-pound senior wrestler at Chandler High, won his fourth consecutive AA state title by defeating Robert Reynolds of Henryetta High. Jerry's record was 127-0 for his four-year varsity career.

Dawn Dumble
BAKERSFIELD, CALIF.
Dumble, a freshman at UCLA, set a women's Pac-10 record by putting the shot 56'7½" at the conference track and field championships. It is the ninth alltime best performance by a female collegian in the event.

Louis Fernandez
TRAVERSE CITY, MICH.
Fernandez, 77, a retired factory worker with a five handicap, aced the 86-yard, par 3 7th hole at Palm Gardens Golf Course in Melbourne, Fla., twice in one day. The next day he aced the 156-yard par 3 4th hole.

Jenny Slingluff
BALTIMORE
Slingluff, a junior lacrosse attack at Virginia, led the Cavaliers to the NCAA women's championship by scoring three goals in an 8-6 title-game defeat of Maryland. She had 39 goals as Virginia amassed a 17-1 record.

Al Pepin
GREENE, MAINE
Pepin, 58, was first among 141 contestants in the International Amateur Pool Championships. Trailing 4-3 and needing five to win, Pepin tied the match 4-4, then pocketed the 8 ball on the break for a victory in the title game.

Jennifer Barr
MONROE, LA.
Jennifer, a freshman at Neville High, won the state AAAA girls' singles tennis title over teammate Melanie Bolton. In the semis she defeated Louisiana's top 18-year-old, Ashley Hutchinson of Caption Shreve High.
