Rainie, a junior-to-be at Billings Senior High, threw a no-hitter in her first varsity softball start, a 15-1 defeat of Great Falls. In the state tournament, which the Lady Broncs won, she had a 0.00 ERA in winning three games.

ARCHBOLD, OHIO
Cobb, a recent graduate of Pettisville High, single-handedly won the state Division III team track and field title by two points over Caldwell High. He was tops in the long jump and 100 meters and second in the 200.

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J.
Omar, a wrestler at Frelinghuysen Middle School, set a national wrestling record for an eighth-grader in the 118-pound division by pinning Josh Goldstein of Newark Academy in three seconds.

Jacque Aguire
SANTA ROSA, CALIF.
Jacque, 15, won the world taekwondo championship for 15-and 16-year-old girls with second-degree black belts. Her four wins came against a field of competitors from North America, South America and Europe.

Brandi Swan
CLAREMORE, OKLA.
Swan, a recent graduate of Claremore High, won the state 4A girls' tennis title for the third year in a row by beating Ashley Moody of Carl Albert High 6-0, 6-1. She lost only two sets in winning her last 69 matches.

Bill Victor
RED OAK, IOWA
Victor, 73, a retired businessman, won the Red Oak Country Club golf championship, with a two-round score of 148. Victor has won a club championship in each of seven decades. His first title was in 1939.
