Page, a sophomore, and Foulds, a senior, pitched perfect games for the Merrimack (Mass.) College softball team in a doubleheader against New Hampshire College. In the first game Page, a righthander, struck out 14 batters, including seven in a row, to lead the Lady Warriors to a 3-0 win. Foulds, also a righty, won the nightcap 9-0 with an eight-strikeout performance. It was her third no-hitter as a college pitcher.
Percy, a senior at Southampton High, was first-team all-state in both football and basketball this school year. He intercepted five passes as a safety, and averaged 28.2 points and 16.3 rebounds as a forward.
Adam, 18, an exchange student at Mission Viejo (Calif.) High, won the 500-and 1,000-yard frees, in 4:25.06 and 9:11.11, at the junior nationals and anchored the meet-record-setting 800-free relay team (6:45.75).
COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA
Paulette, a senior at Lincoln High, qualified for the U.S. Olympic trials by heaving the shot put 53'3½". For a high school girl, her throw was the second-best ever and only the second toss of more than 50 feet.
Whitten, 51, the lacrosse coach at Wilton High, has guided the Warriors to an 11-2 record this season to run his career mark to 341-66. His teams have won 13 state titles, and he has been state coach of the year three times.
