Sharon, 48, a secretary, and Bob, 49, a contractor, who were retired from dance roller skating for 21 years, have now won the national masters title for an unprecedented three consecutive years since becoming masters (45 and over) in 1990. They are the only masters team to receive first-place votes from all five judges—which they have done in winning each of their crowns. They met in 1955 at a California roller rink and within a year became a couple, on and off the rink. They won their first title, in the junior dance division (ages 11-14), at the 1957 California-Southwest-Pacific regionals but retired in 1960 after a poor showing at the regionals. Twenty-one years, one wedding and two kids later, they laced up their skates again.
