Troy Dumais
VENTURA, CALIF.
Troy, 13, for the second straight year swept all three events (the one-and three-meter springboards and the platform) in the 13-and-under category at the National Junior Olympic Diving Championships. He also won the three-meter and the platform titles at the 1991 meet. His younger brother, Brice, tied for fourth off the platform this year.

Sibby Flowers
MACON, GA.
Flowers, 30, won her seventh national women's weightlifting title, in the 101.4-pound class, by lifting a total of 314.2 pounds: 137.8 in the snatch and 176.4 in the clean and jerk. She later set two American records in that weight class, 181.9 pounds in the clean and jerk and 319.7 in total lift. The latter earned her the Olympic Festival crown.

David Gonzales
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
David, 14, successfully defended his titles in the boys' age 13-14 pentathlon and high jump at the AAU Junior Olympics. He amassed 4,281 points in the pentathlon, edging out second-place finisher Dickie Gonzales (no relation), also of Corpus Christi, by 23 points. His winning jump was 6'3½".

John Roethlisberger
AFTON, MINN.
Roethlisberger, 23, won his third all-around title in four years as well as the rings at the national gymnastics championships. He has also been a three-time NCAA all-around champ, performing for Minnesota, and a 1992 Olympian. His father, Fred, and sister Marie were both Olympic gymnasts, in '68 and '84, respectively.

Betsy Dougherty
MORRISVILLE, PA.
Dougherty, 31, a schoolteacher and coach, scored twice in 38 seconds and assisted on the game-winning goal to lead the U.S. to the 4-1 win over England that clinched its second straight World Cup women's lacrosse title. Dougherty, the U.S. captain, had nine goals and four assists in the six-game tournament.

Bryce Jagel
ST. PETERSBURG
Bryce, 13, won the freshman (age 12-13) boys' quads and in-line skate titles at the U.S. Indoor Speed Championships. He earned the same crowns last year in the elementary (age 10-11) boys' division. Before in-line skates became a separate division in '92, he won four straight age-division speed titles on quads, or conventional roller skates.
