TOM KITE: El Capitan says the European team should be favored in
the Ryder Cup. Sandbagger.

MICHAEL JORDAN: He's reviled for playing 48 holes before a play-
off game. A valid concern, but more important, who plays 48 holes?

SQUEEKY MEDLEN: Nick Price's caddie is getting better. Check out
his Web site (www.squeeky.com) for the latest update.

THE MEMORIAL: Tour pros say they love it because they're treated
so well. Where aren't they?

PAUL AZINGER: The former PGA champ ranks in the top 30 in
birdies and in greens in regulation but 127th in putting.

PGA TICKETS: More exclusive than the Masters'? Only 25,000
tickets for the '98 PGA will be sold, at a minimum of $250 a pop.

TIM FINCHEM: The commissioner says that the Tour will offer
bonus money "to incentivize" three segments of the season. The
program starts in 1999; no word on when incentivize will make it
into the dictionary.

MICHAEL CAMPBELL: With the assistance of a Belgian psychologist
nicknamed Mr. Magic, the New Zealander finally makes a cut.
