Fencing Williams, 33, was named the U.S. Fencing Association's Female Athlete of the Year after coming in second in women's sabre at the world championships, the best finish ever for an American in any weapon, and winning the U.S. crown. Race Walking Dow, 34, won the 20-km race walk at the Pan American Cup in a time of 1:38:57. COLOR PHOTO: TOM GRIFFIN David Flavius, Castries, St. Lucia Soccer Flavius, 27, a senior forward at Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, scored his 100th career goal with a hat trick in a 9-1 victory over Point Park College of Pittsburgh. MACMILLAN Zuzana Lesenerova, Novy Vicin, Czech Republic Tennis Lesenerova, a junior at the University of San Diego, won the Riviera All-American tournament, beating NCAA champion Vanessa Webb of Duke (6-1, 7-6) in the semis, to become the second woman to win the first two legs of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Grand Slams.
