Wrestling Quint, a senior at Horizon High, beat Cliff Hughes of Kofa High in Yuma to win the 189-pound division at the 5A state championships for the third year in a row. Basketball McDuffie, 43, the coach at Mitchell-Baker High since 1982, guided the 28-1 Eagles to their third consecutive AA state crown with a 105-76 defeat of East Hall High. Mitchell-Baker High, which defeated opponents by a 28-point margin this season, has won the title five times under McDuffie.
