He Delivers

August 20, 2000

No catcher in history has hit as prolifically as Mike Piazza
(right). Through Sunday he had 271 home runs, 865 RBIs and 680
runs scored in eight-plus major league seasons, which ranked him
sixth, ninth and 16th, respectively, in those categories among
backstops. His dominance is more apparent when you compare his
rate of production with other top catchers' (minimum 1,000
games), including Roy Campanella (left). --David Sabino
