One Tough Tire
It's not easy to puncture an Armadillo tire ($29.99-$39.99) from
Specialized. The tire has a three-layer design that incorporates
a subtread impregnated with DuPont Kevlar to seal holes and a
synthetic cap-ply material to prevent sidewall cuts. The company
has a no-fault replacement policy for tires that go flat and says
it will post the best flat-tire stories on its website,
www.specialized.com.

Not for Tournament Play
If you've ever suffered twinges of guilt after hitting a golf
ball into the water off the deck of a cruise ship, try the
environmentally friendly Eco Golf Ball ($12 per dozen). Made of
ground rawhide, the ball breaks down in fresh- or saltwater
within 96 hours, leaving no toxic residue. Check out their
degradable corn resin tees too. Call 888-326-3003, or go to
www.ecogolf.com.
