Jazz at Kings
NBC 3 PM Filmmaker Ken Burns's 17 1/2-hour documentary, Jazz,
recently finished its run on PBS. To fill the void, we offer
CNN/SI NBA writer Marty Burns's 17 1/2-word analysis, this one
concerning another venerable and underappreciated American Jazz
original, Midwest Division-leading Utah: "Stockton and Malone.
Pick-and-roll. Mind-numbing execution. Why it won't win the NBA

Avalanche at Penguins
ESPN2 3 PM Happy hour begins early for puckheads on Presidents'
Day. Colorado, through Sunday the NHL's second-best team, visits
Pittsburgh, whose Mario Lemieux, having mastered the comeback
routine, is hockey's Jordan. In the last 20 seasons only three
players have won the Art Ross Trophy (most points): Wayne
Gretzky, the Penguins' Jaromir Jagr and his linemate Lemieux.
Bidding to become the fourth is Avalanche center Joe Sakic, the
NHL's leading scorer, with 77 points.

parody, set to the tune of the Buffett hit Come Monday:

Van Gundy, why you hold his leg tight?
I've spent e-ter-ni-ty screaming, "Illegal D!"
And I just want 'Zo back on our side.

a Dodge rounded the famous 2.5-mile tri-oval. The Daytona is
history, but Dodge returns to the stock car Super Bowl today
with potentially as many as 10 drivers behind the wheels of
Intrepids, including two-time winners Bill Elliott (the pole
sitter, above) and Sterling Marlin as well as Kyle Petty,
Richard's son. Making its Winston Cup debut is Fox, which will
employ 35 cameras and a top-of-the-screen scroll conveying race
