The Big Five-0

February 19, 2001

Already this season there have been more individual 50-point
games (seven) than there were in 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000
combined (six). This is the first time since 1989-90 that
multiple players--Antawn Jamison (left) and Allen Iverson--have had
multiple 50-point outbursts. In fact, through Sunday the
frequency of 50-point games this season was the third highest
since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976.
