Weightlifting Quoc, who was Seminole High's valedictorian and who will attend Georgetown in the fall, won the high school state title in the 129-pound category and set a state mark in the clean and jerk (255 pounds). As a 119-pound junior he also set a clean-and-jerk record en route to winning the state championship.

Baseball Moynihan, 31, an English and history teacher and boys' coach at Dummerston School, guided the Wildcats to their seventh consecutive Vermont and New Hampshire regional championship. Moynihan, who has been the head coach for nine seasons, has a record of 150 wins and 17 losses.

A member of the Golden Bears' varsity boat for three years, Walton won every heat, semifinal, final and dual race he rowed in as a member of four national championship crews.

Taekwondo Meghan, 14, won the gold medal for sparring in the light heavyweight division (139 to 149.9 pounds) at the Junior Olympics Taekwondo Championships. One week earlier she was a member of Colorado's 15-and-under elite volleyball club, which competed in that sport's Junior Olympics.

Golf Gregorski, 39, a lawyer and real estate developer, won the Dairyland Open amateur division when he double-eagled on the 512-yard par-5 18th hole at Lake Wisconsin Country Club. Gregorski, who won two previous state amateur titles, was tied with Gary Menzel of Milwaukee going into the final hole.
