Lastings Milledge, PALMETTO, FLA.
Baseball
Lastings, a junior outfielder at Northside Christian School,
batted .571 with 16 home runs and a state record 77 RBIs as he
led the Mustangs (33-3) to victory in the Class 1A state title
game. He hasn't batted below .546 during his high school career.

Trent Tompkins, HUDSON, IOWA
Kickboxing
Tompkins, 20, won the amateur International Kickboxing
Association's North American super heavyweight crown by knocking
out Canadian titleholder Ivan Varga 40 seconds into their match.
Tompkins won the U.S. championship last September.

Megan McHugh, PHILADELPHIA
Lacrosse
McHugh, a junior attack at Chestnut Hill College, led Division
III in goals per game (6.19) and ranked third in points per game
(6.69). She has scored 203 goals in 36 games during her three
seasons for the Griffins.

Jeremy Malm, SCOTTSVILLE, VA.
Soccer
Jeremy, who turned eight on May 31, a midfielder in the
Scottsville Organization for Kids Sports under-eight soccer
league, scored 36 goals in six matches, leading the Falcons to a
6-0 record. He scored 13 goals in three playoff games as his
team won the league title.

David Porter, LA'IE, HAWAII
Tennis
Porter, 50, the coach at Brigham Young University-Hawaii, guided
both the men's and women's teams to Division II championships. He
became the second coach in any division to win both titles in the
same year. His squads combined for a 58-1 record this season.

Jerome Milton, TYLER, TEXAS
Track and Field
Milton, 46, coach at Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic High,
guided the boys' team to two titles in the last three years and
the girls' team to a record four straight state 3A titles. His
program, now 85 strong, started 13 years ago with seven athletes.

Kim Jeffs, STOUGHTON, MASS.
Softball
Jeffs, a freshman righthander at Plymouth State College, led
Division III with a record 360 strikeouts this season. Her
20-strikeout performance in a 1-0 win over Fitchburg State was
also a division mark. She was 21-8 this season with an .068 ERA.
