Dan Forsman's 13-under 129 (64-65) to close the Pennsylvania
Classic tied Ian Leggatt (Tucson Open) and Len Mattiace (FedEx
St. Jude Classic) for the lowest weekend score by a winner in
2002.... Going into the week Forsman was 117th on the money
list, meaning three of the last five Tour winners were outside
the top 100 prior to their victories.... The Safeway Classic was
Annika Sorenstam's eighth W of the year--two more than the
victory total of the entire U.S. Solheim Cup team....
Sorenstam's 62 on Saturday was the lowest round by an LPGA
winner this year.... Bruce Fleisher broke a 39-start drought
with a record-breaking victory at the Senior's RJR Championship.
Fleisher's 10-under 60 in the first round matched Isao Aoki's
alltime low, and Fleisher's totals for 36 (124) and 54 (191)
holes were records.
