The Week In Television

This is an article from the June 9, 2003 issue Original Layout

FRIDAY 6/6 > HBO 11:30 PM > On the Record with Bob Costas

Han Solo and Mr. Belvedere on the same guest list? We must be
dreaming. Harrison Ford and Bob (Mr. Baseball) Uecker stop by to
chat with Bob.

SATURDAY 6/7 > NBC 9 AM > French Open: Women's Final

Fans of Serena Williams may want to keep this stat in mind:
Steffi Graf (1995 and '96) was the last woman to repeat at Roland

SATURDAY 6/7 > FOX 1 PM > Yankees at Cubs

It's the Yanks' first trip to Wrigley Field since they swept
Chicago in the 1938 World Series. Finally, the payback chance
Gabby Hartnett never got.

SATURDAY 6/7 > HBO 9:30 PM
Arturo Gatti vs. Mickey Ward

Junior welterweights Ward (far right, 38-12, 27 KOs) and Gatti
(35-6, 25) split their first two bouts, which offered up 20 of
the most memorably brutal rounds in recent history. The rubber
match, in Atlantic City, promises to be just as riveting.

SATURDAY 6/7 > NBC 5:30 PM > The Belmont Stakes

He's a gelding, but Funny Cide at least has the first two jewels
of racing's Triple Crown. Now he tries to become the 12th horse
in history to add the third.

WEDNESDAY 6/11 > ABC 8:30 PM > Spurs at Nets, Game 4

By this time the Spurs will have gotten a good look at the point
guard they hope to have running the floor for them next year:
free-agent-to-be Jason Kidd.

WEDNESDAY 6/11 > ESPN CLASSIC 8 PM > SportsCentury: Charles

Back-to-back Barkley: An hourlong bio paves the way for a replay
of his stunning performance for Auburn in a 1984 NCAA first-round
game against Richmond.
