Scout's Take

February 02, 2004

On the disappointing Bulls (13-31 at week's end):

"The only guy worth keeping from the Jerry Krause era is Tyson
Chandler, who lacks toughness but at least seems willing to work.
Eddy Curry began this season well but is back to his old
unproductive self. The way he plays makes you question his
desire. He's only 21, and he still could develop into a solid NBA
center; it just doesn't look like that's going to happen while
he's in Chicago. I would also look for them to unload Jamal
Crawford, who isn't a true point guard, and bring in more guys
like rookie point guard Kirk Hinrich--resilient players in the
mold of G.M. John Paxson and coach Scott Skiles who can bring
some toughness to the team."
