underdogs in every sport. In the 1954 state basketball final
Milan High (enrollment: 161) upset Muncie Central, a school nine
times as large. Hoosiers may have fudged many details but its
buzzer-beating climax did echo real life: Bobby Plump's 15-foot
jump shot with three seconds left gave the Indians a 32-30 win.
