The Seed Report

March 01, 2004

WITH LESS than three weeks until Selection Sunday, it appears
that, barring a total collapse, Stanford and Duke have locked up
top seeds, and Saint Joseph's must win out to hold on to the No.
1 spot in the East. The top seed in the Midwest went to Oklahoma
State after Mississippi State's loss to Alabama, but a number of
contenders are circling that vulnerable slot. And the lower rungs
are completely up for grabs, as Louisville, Arizona and
Wisconsin, all No. 3's last week, exited after losing at least
once.
