Wyo., offers mountaineering clinics, yoga sessions and
world-class cragging in Wild Iris and Sinks Canyon. Speed climber
Timmy O'Neill is the keynote speaker.

RIDING GIANTS Stacy Peralta's follow-up to his skateboard film
Dogtown and Z-Boys, this documentary about big-wave surfers opens
in limited release. Peralta tracked down the California riders
who, by venturing to the North Shore in the 1950s, started the
surfing craze.

JULY 12
KIEHL'S BADWATER ULTRAMARATHON Two-time defending champion Pam
Reed, who beat Dean Karnazes by 25 minutes in this event last
year, will be back to defend her title on this 135-mile haul
through California from Death Valley to Mount Whitney.
