Angela Hoover, JULIAN, PA.
Track and Field

Angela, a graduating senior at Bald Eagle Area High, ended her
scholastic career by winning her fourth state Class AA javelin
title, thereby becoming the first athlete in meet history to win
the event four times. She was undefeated in high school
competition.

Benedikt Dorsch, WEIDEN, GERMANY
Tennis

Dorsch, a junior at Baylor, led the Bears to the national title
and was named the 2004 Intercollegiate Tennis Association player
of the year. He finished No. 1 in the ITA rankings and was the
MVP of the NCAA championships.

Brittany Cary, SYLVESTER, TEXAS
Golf

Cary, a junior at McMurry University, won the NCAA Division III
individual golf title after taking medalist honors in all six
spring tournaments she entered. She was voted the American
Southwest Conference female athlete of the year.

Paul Koretzki, ROCKY POINT, N.Y.
Track and Field

Koretzki, 64, the girls' cross-country and track coach at
Shoreham-Wading River High, has over the last 25 years guided the
Wildcats to 54 league titles, 32 division championships, 25
Suffolk County titles and one state crown. His teams have a
520-33 record.

Michelle Esquivel, BUENA PARK, CALIF.
Tennis

Michelle, a senior at Sunny Hills High who also takes classes at
Santa Ana College, won the California Community College women's
singles championship to become the first woman to win that title
while still in high school.

Andrew Kinney, PETERSBURG, MICH.
Baseball

Kinney, a recent graduate of Ida High, set one Michigan high
school record and tied another when he hit three grand slams and
drove in 12 runs in a win over Monroe Jefferson on May 22. The
righthander was also credited with the Bluestreaks' victory.

Kristin Swanson, POULSBO, WASH.
Water Polo

Kristin, a recent graduate of Bainbridge High, led the Bainbridge
club water polo team to the Washington girls' championship. She
was named the tournament's defensive MVP and finished the season
with 55 goals, 58 steals and 19 assists in 20 games.
