The Questions with Brian Scalabrine Nets Forward

What was your welcome-to-the-NBA moment?
It wasn't until last season [his third] when I scored 17 points and hit four three-pointers in a playoff game against Detroit. I knew then that I could excel in tough spots in this league.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
My third game as a rookie I went to check in, and I didn't have my jersey on under my warmups. To this day I check three or four times to make sure I haven't forgotten it.

Favorite off-day activity?
Going in and working out with no coaches around or anybody. I have the facility to myself, and I can just work on my fadeaway jumper, or whatever, without anyone telling me what to do.

If I were commissioner for a day, I'd ...
Make the game more run-and-gun. I'd give teams an extra point for scoring in the first six seconds of the shot clock. I'd cut the time you have to get over midcourt from eight to seven seconds. And I'd drop the shot clock from 24 to 20 seconds.

Last Week

On his 27th birthday last Friday, the 6'9", 235-pounder went 5 for 5 from the field in a win over Utah.

This Week

On Monday, Nets play Charlotte and ex-UCLA forward Jason Kapono, whom Scalabrine, a USC alum, battled in Pac-10 showdowns.
