NEWBURYPORT, MASS. A pro skateboarder launches an eatery devoted to beans, burritos and action sports
May 29, 2005

When Lasek, 32, moved from his native Baltimore to San Diego six years ago, he discovered two things about his new home: It had better weather and burritos. "I eat them a few times a week," he says.

Noting the lack of California-style burritos in New England, Lasek and Winter opened the burrito shop 1 1/2 miles from an outdoor skate park last month. Customers can build their own burritos, or they can get Bucky's Baltimore Crab Taco with pico de gallo. "That was my idea," Lasek says.

Winter, the CEO, who lives 20 minutes from the shop, plans to launch 25 Bucky's Burritos along the East Coast in the next 2 1/2 years. "There's no stopping us," Winter says.
