Block Party

"It's really ridiculous to walk out my front door and snowboard down into my private snowboard park," says DC Shoes president Ken Block in the opening of Mtn.Lab (DC Films, $30), a new snowboard DVD about his dream oasis. More fantastic is building a slide that you can ride through your front door, across your living room and out your balcony into Utah's Wasatch Range. The 30-minute video, which comes with a 120-page book with photos of the DC Shoes R&D center, is filled with visually creative shots of pro riders jumping over rails and through hula hoops. A clip of Travis Rice launching over two road gaps with no cars or people in sight captures the beauty of Mountain Lab. Says Rice, "Could you ask for a better setup?" --Y.Y.
