What was your welcome-to-the-NFL moment?

My first year, 1998, I got totally blindsided on the reverse by [Steelers receiver] Hines Ward. That hit let me know I was playing at a different level.

What was your most embarrassing moment?

Whenever the quarterback is in my hands and I don't sack him--like against Tampa Bay last year. I thought I had [Brian] Griese, but he made a move.

Your favorite off-day activity?

Get a massage and eat as much as I can. Food is my favorite food. I don't care what it is.

If I weren't in the NFL, I'd be ...

working with underprivileged kids, getting them involved in little leagues. Or working with battered women. I've always had an interest in those things because I wasn't exactly born with a silver spoon in my mouth in Arkansas.

LAST WEEK

The 6'4", 265-pound Foley, who leads the Chargers with 2 1/2 sacks, had a tackle in a 27-14 win over Oakland.

THIS WEEK

The Chargers (3-3) are in Philadelphia, where Foley had nine tackles, including a sack as a Bengal in 2000.
